I planned to go self-hosted but my ISP apparently doesn’t do any kind of public IP anymore so not even DynDNS will work. Plus I’m probably too lazy to securely run a public wordpress site from home.
But I’m definitely overpaying for hosting because I’m paying for deluxe hosting because I used to use this for other projects but now it’s just become a wordpress site that I update maybe once a year if that. I do want to keep the domain for posterity and maybe one day I’ll have more time and energy to post more of my projects so for now I’m planning to convert this to a static site.
I’ve already got everything backed up and cancelled hosting (ends on 7/26/2026). So this site should become static pretty soon.
